Why buying Greenland might make sense

The Morning Call - - TOWN SQUARE -

Once again the press wants to vilify Trump for wanting to buy Greenland. But it is a fantastic defensive move for the United States. It is a great stopping point should the polar cap thaw more and allow more navigation through the polar ice cap. But that is not the real reason.

Our defense department is critically dependent on China for a component used in almost every single fighter jet we have. Rare earth metals, specifically magnetic rare earth metals. Greenland is littered with this resource.

So, the question is: Do we want to be beholden to an autocratic state with horrible human rights and environmental philosophies, or do we want to clean up our environment and stay safer at home?

But the press was fast to call Trump evil and maintain its lefty propaganda. Gregory Labelle Bethlehem Township
