Is­mael Arce­lay

Is­mael Arce­lay has joined Pena4 Inc. as di­rec­tor of busi­ness process man­age­ment busi­ness devel­op­ment.

Arce­lay has 20-plus years in var­i­ous busi­ness and com­mu­ni­ca­tion roles. He was spe­cial as­sis­tant to the mayor of Al­len­town since 2006. He served as the com­mu­ni­ca­tions link to elected of­fi­cials, busi­ness and com­mu­nity lead­ers, civic or­ga­ni­za­tions and spe­cial in­ter­est groups on a wide va­ri­ety of city-re­lated is­sues. Arce­lay is also an ad­junct pro­fes­sor at Lehigh Car­bon Com­mu­nity Col­lege, where he teaches var­i­ous busi­ness-re­lated cour­ses. Pre­vi­ously, he held po­si­tions at Reeb Mill­work Corp. as com­mu­ni­ca­tions man­ager and was a cre­ative tech­ni­cal di­rec­tor/ com­mu­ni­ca­tions di­rec­tor at AT&T.

Arce­lay has a bach­e­lor’s de­gree in busi­ness man­age­ment from Muh­len­berg Col­lege and a mas­ter’s de­gree in busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion from Kutz­town Univer­sity, and he is pur­su­ing a doc­tor of busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion from Cal­i­for­nia South­ern Univer­sity.

Lance Colondo

Unity Bank has ap­pointed Lance Colondo to the po­si­tion of re­la­tion­ship man­ager and as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent for its Beth­le­hem Branch at 2850 Eas­ton Ave. Colondo, a res­i­dent of the Lehigh Valley for more than 30 years, is the mayor of Nazareth.

Colondo pre­vi­ously man­aged Unity’s Phillips­burg, New Jersey, branch and has held sim­i­lar po­si­tions with sev­eral re­gional banks lo­cated in the Lehigh Valley. He has long been ac­tive with the Nazareth-Bath Area Cham­ber of Com­merce, where he served as chair­per­son prior to his seek­ing the of­fice of mayor. Colondo was ap­pointed to a two-year term on the Nazareth Coun­cil in Fe­bru­ary 2014 and was elected to a sec­ond two-year term in 2016. He has served as the bor­ough’s li­ai­son to the Nazareth Area Coun­cil of Gov­ern­ments and to the Nazareth Eco­nomic Devel­op­ment Com­mis­sion in ad­di­tion to his for­mer du­ties as Fire Com­mit­tee chair­man and Law chair­man.

Melissa M. Bar­bosa

Melissa M. Bar­bosa has joined NEPA Man­age­ment Associates as a man­ager, long-term and cor­po­rate rentals. Bar­bosa started with the com­pany mid-June and is based out of the BHG Busi­ness Cam­pus.

Prior to join­ing NEPA Man­age­ment Associates, Bar­bosa was fi­nan­cial ad­min­is­tra­tor at Michael Bax­ter & Associates for close to four years where she learned and be­came fa­mil­iar with the real es­tate rental busi­ness.

Bar­bosa is ex­pe­ri­enced in real es­tate ac­count­ing in­clud­ing payables, re­ceiv­ables, man­age­ment of client port­fo­lios on a daily and monthly ba­sis, and the han­dling of main­te­nance for the units.

Ger­ald Sil­ber­man

Ger­ald Sil­ber­man, Kutz­town Univer­sity’s vice pres­i­dent for ad­min­is­tra­tion and fi­nance and chief fi­nan­cial of­fi­cer, an­nounced his retirement from KU af­ter 29 years, 11 as vice pres­i­dent. Sil­ber­man has ac­cepted the po­si­tion of vice pres­i­dent for fi­nance and strat­egy at El­iz­a­beth­town Col­lege, ef­fec­tive Aug. 12. His last day on cam­pus was Aug. 2.

Sharon Pi­cus, who cur­rently serves as KU’s as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent of hu­man re­sources, will step in as in­terim vice pres­i­dent for ad­min­is­tra­tion and fi­nance, ef­fec­tive Aug. 3. Pi­cus, who is a mem­ber of the pres­i­dent’s ex­tended cab­i­net, has worked at KU for 34 years.

Sil­ber­man has worked at KU since 1990. He be­gan by man­ag­ing the fi­nan­cial ser­vices of the ad­min­is­tra­tion as the di­rec­tor of ac­count­ing, then served as the comptrolle­r for eight years un­til be­com­ing the as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent of ad­min­is­tra­tion and fi­nance in 1999. He was ap­pointed vice pres­i­dent of ad­min­is­tra­tion and fi­nance in

2008, af­ter serv­ing as in­terim vice pres­i­dent for nearly a year.

Pi­cus be­gan her ten­ure at KU in 1985 as a mem­ber of the sup­port staff in the Of­fice of Fi­nan­cial Aid. She was pro­moted to a man­age­ment po­si­tion in Hu­man Re­sources in 1986, ad­vanc­ing to the chief hu­man re­sources of­fi­cer in 1998. Pi­cus was pro­moted to as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent of hu­man re­sources in 2016, serv­ing as sec­ond in com­mand for the divi­sion of Ad­min­is­tra­tion and Fi­nance. Pi­cus earned her as­so­ciate’s de­gree from Penn State and her bach­e­lor’s and mas­ter’s de­grees from KU.
