Man pleads guilty in sex trafficking case
A man pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to helping force and/or coerce women into prostitution in Monroe County between 2011 and 2015.
William Battle, 28, of Stroudsburg, admitted to being in the Black P-Stones, a gang trafficking sex and drugs in Stroudsburg and Maine.
Battle and others rented hotel rooms where prostitutes did business with customers, authorities said. The gang threatened, assaulted and gave the prostitutes drugs to keep them in line, keeping all of the prostitutes’ earnings.
The case was investigated by the FBI, Pennsylvania state police, local police in Monroe County, the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and local police in Maine under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.
