Man pleads guilty in sex traf­fick­ing case

A man pleaded guilty in fed­eral court Wed­nes­day to help­ing force and/or co­erce women into pros­ti­tu­tion in Mon­roe County be­tween 2011 and 2015.

Wil­liam Bat­tle, 28, of Strouds­burg, ad­mit­ted to be­ing in the Black P-Stones, a gang traf­fick­ing sex and drugs in Strouds­burg and Maine.

Bat­tle and oth­ers rented ho­tel rooms where pros­ti­tutes did busi­ness with cus­tomers, au­thor­i­ties said. The gang threat­ened, as­saulted and gave the pros­ti­tutes drugs to keep them in line, keep­ing all of the pros­ti­tutes’ earn­ings.

The case was in­ves­ti­gated by the FBI, Penn­syl­va­nia state po­lice, lo­cal po­lice in Mon­roe County, the Mon­roe County District At­tor­ney’s Of­fice and lo­cal po­lice in Maine un­der the Or­ga­nized Crime Drug En­force­ment Task Force.
