Vic­tim stabbed 7 times, po­lice al­lege

The vic­tim in a Tues­day stab­bing told Al­len­town po­lice she was stabbed seven times, ac­cord­ing to court records.

Julio Pare­des, 32, of Al­len­town, was charged with two counts of ag­gra­vated as­sault and one count of sim­ple as­sault in the stab­bing, which hap­pened in his first-floor apart­ment in the 100 block of North 12th Street, po­lice said. He was ar­raigned by District Judge Rashid San­ti­ago and sent to Le­high County Jail un­der $100,000 bail.

The vic­tim fled the home af­ter the stab­bing and was found on the porch of a nearby home. She iden­ti­fied Pare­des as the per­son who stabbed her, court records say.

Another per­son wit­nessed the stab­bing and told po­lice they saw Pare­des stab the vic­tim at least four times, court records say.

Af­ter he was ar­rested, Pare­des ad­mit­ted to stab­bing the vic­tim with a kitchen knife, court records say. He said he stabbed her twice af­ter she grabbed him from the back as he was punch­ing a win­dow, court records say.
