Boy, 3, struck by vehicle in crosswalk, police say
Bethlehem Township police say a 3-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning while in a crosswalk, but his injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Police say they were called to the accident that happened around 9:45 a.m. as the boy and a woman were crossing Freemansburg Avenue at Wagner Drive.
Police say the boy and the woman were in the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by a man going south on Wagner turned left into the crosswalk.
Authorities say the driver, whose name was not released, apparently failed to yield and hit the boy, who was either carrying or riding a scooter.
The driver remained on scene and the crash remains under investigation.
