Food, music and fun return for 30th year
Soak up the last bit of summer at the Uptown Northampton Street Fair, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in Northampton.
The 30th annual event, presented by the Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce, features food, live music, demonstrations, crafters and more.
“Since it is a milestone year, we have upped our game and packed the day with more community involvement, entertainment, vendors and food options than ever!” a Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce new release states.
More than 100 local food, craft and merchant vendors will include Geakers Tacos, Josie’s Fancy Funnels, Taza Truck, Northampton’s Grace United Church of Christ and Island Expressions.
The free, pet-friendly event also will feature an opening ceremony and pledge to the flag by Cub Pack 26 and Boy Scout Troop 93 (10 a.m.), scrolling accordion player Henry Laurito (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), bar featuring beer, cider and wine in commemorative cups (noon-5 p.m.), Elite Mixed Martial Arts demos (12:30-1:30 p.m.), 3D Dance Studio performances (2:30-3:30 p.m.) and tours of Roxy Theater all day.
Live music at two stages will feature performances by Jordan White (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Brenna (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), Andrew Lobby (1-3 p.m.), Bryant Brothers (3-5 p.m.) and Tim Harakal (3:30-5 p.m.).
An after-party at the Gin Mill & Grille will feature specials and music by Billy Trexler of the Large Flowerheads. Info: lehighvalleychamber.org/northampton.html.
