Fill up on gy­ros, mous­saka, baklava and other Greek spe­cial­ties at St. Ni­cholas Greek Ortho­dox Cathe­dral’s Greek Food Fes­ti­val next weekend.

The bi-an­nual event, which be­gins Sept. 19 and wraps up Sept. 22, fea­tures a la carte items such as spanako­pita and stuffed grape leaves, and desserts such as louk­oumades (honey puffs) and bougatsa (creamy cus­tard in fillo pas­try).

Plat­ter high­lights in­clude chicken or pork sou­vlaki, Greek or Ve­gan stuffed pep­pers, pastit­sio (lay­ers of penne pasta and Greek­style chopped beef with Bechamel sauce) and Athe­nian chicken (bone­less and skin­less baked chicken breast filled with a blend of spinach, feta cream sauce and herbs and topped with light gravy). Most plat­ters in­clude rice or baked orzo, green beans, salad and a din­ner roll.

Other high­lights in­clude church tours, tra­di­tional Greek danc­ing and mu­sic.
