Grim’s Orchard opens its annual Fall Festival Saturday

Grim’s Orchard and Family Farms in Breinigsvi­lle kicks off its popular annual Fall Festival on Saturday.

Activities include pick-yourown-apples with 25 varieties, pick-your-own pumpkins, hayride tours and a corn maze. Flashlight Maze Nights are 6-10 p.m. Saturdays starting Oct. 5 through Nov. 2.

A pay corral includes hay mountain; Bunker Hill; caterpilla­r slide; orchard puzzle; tether ball; baseball, football and basketball toss; duck races; spider web; corn bin; bouncy ball track; sand pit; corn hole, and ladder golf.

The festival also has a dual cattle train, bounce pillows, pedal karts and an apple cannon, and glow-in-the-dark farmer paintball.

Refreshmen­ts are for sale in the farm’s kitchen and bakery, including 22 different flavors of ice cream. , Also, milk shakes, kettle corn, apple cider donuts, apple cider and peach slushies and hot dogs.

It is free to come to the farm, but there are fees for activities. A one-day pass to 21 activities is $16.95 per person, or you can buy tickets for individual activities. The tickets are $1.10 per ticket. For example, the maze is 8 tickets; the play corral is 5 tickets.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in September; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays in October. The festival also is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 14. The corn maze, and pumpkin and apple picking are open at 10 a.m. daily. Grim’s is at 9941 Schantz Road.
