Bethlehem man knocked man un­con­scious, bit him, po­lice say

A Bethlehem man is charged with knock­ing a man un­con­scious and bit­ing him in an Aug. 30 as­sault in Al­len­town.

An­dre An­der­son, 32, of the 70s block of Val­ley Park South, was ar­raigned Wed­nes­day and placed in county jail un­der $100,000 bail. An­der­son is charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault, sim­ple as­sault, ter­ror­is­tic threats and ha­rass­ment.

An­der­son en­tered the man’s yard in the 900 block of North 19th Street, po­lice said. When the man asked why An­der­son was there, An­der­son hit him on the right side of the head with a 30-inch-long metal pipe, knock­ing him un­con­scious, po­lice said.

When the man re­gained con­scious­ness, he and An­der­son fought, with An­der­son bit­ing him in the chest, po­lice said. An­der­son then fled.

The man was treated for in­juries at St. Luke’s Hos­pi­tal Al­len­town and An­der­son was later ar­rested.
