Cedar Crest College launches tuition program
Building on a commitment to expanding access to higher education and making college more affordable, Cedar Crest College announced a new program that offers academically qualified students the same tuition rate of the flagship public institution in their home state. The State Tuition Access Rate program is available to firsttime, first-year students entering the undergraduate women’s college with an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher and a combined SAT score (math and verbal) of 1050 (or ACT composite score of 20) or higher.
The program is an expansion and renaming of a previous initiative that afforded Pennsylvania residents who met minimum requirements a tuition rate equal to the aggregate rate across all of Penn State’s campuses. Cedar Crest will continue to offer that aggregate rate to Pennsylvania residents who qualify for the new STAR program. The remaining states’ rates will be determined by the tuition at the main campus of its flagship institution.
The STAR program joins other recent Cedar Crest initiatives aimed at a similar goal of access and affordability including The Carmen Twillie Ambar Sophomore Expedition, a short-term study abroad opportunity for all sophomores funded almost entirely by the college; The FourYear Guarantee (4YG); and the Student Employment Center, among others.
