Free naloxone available Wednesday
The lifesaving, overdose-reversal medication naloxone will be available free at almost 90 locations across the state on Wednesday and Sept. 25.
The initiative is part of the state’s second Stop Overdoses in PA: Get Help Now Week, Gov. Tom Wolf announced Monday. Distributions will primarily take place at state health centers and county/municipal health departments from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., as supplies last.
In Lehigh County, kits can be picked up at the Lehigh County State Health Center, 3730 Lehigh St., Whitehall and the Allentown Health Bureau, 245 N. Sixth Street. In Northampton County, kits can be picked up at the Northampton County State Health Center, 1600 Northampton St., Easton and the Bethlehem Health Bureau, 10 E. Church St.
Secretary of Health Rachel Levine said some locations are operating at different hours so she advised residents to visit the Department of Health’s website for more details.
