Af­ter ar­gu­ment, woman runs down man on side­walk with SUV, po­lice say

Af­ter an ar­gu­ment with a man in Beth­le­hem on Sun­day, a 34-year-old woman drove onto the side­walk and hit him, send­ing the man rolling over the hood of her SUV, ac­cord­ing to court records.

Crys­tal S. Le­grand, of Beth­le­hem, then made a U-turn and at­tempted to run over the man again, wit­nesses told po­lice.

Beth­le­hem po­lice found smear marks on the hood and fresh blood on the grille of Le­grand’s ve­hi­cle, court records say. She ad­mit­ted to driv­ing the SUV dur­ing the in­ci­dent, po­lice said.

Le­grand was charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault, sim­ple as­sault, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and ha­rass­ment. She was ar­raigned by Dis­trict Judge Donna But­ler and was sent to Le­high County Jail un­der $50,000 bail.

Ac­cord­ing to a crim­i­nal com­plaint:

Beth­le­hem po­lice were dis­patched at 5:15 p.m. Sun­day to the 1800 block of West North Street on a re­port of a per­son be­ing hit by a ve­hi­cle. Po­lice spoke to two wit­nesses who said they saw the as­sault. One wit­ness said they saw Le­grand ar­gu­ing with a man, iden­ti­fied in court records as McKin­ley Faulcon.

Faulcon started walk­ing west on North Street and Le­grand got in the SUV and drove to­ward him. She got out of the ve­hi­cle and started ar­gu­ing with Faulcon a sec­ond time and then got back in the SUV and drove onto the side­walk and hit him.

The wit­ness said Faulcon rolled off the hood and ap­peared to in­jure his knee and hand, ac­cord­ing to court records.

A sec­ond wit­ness said she was stopped at West Mar­ket and West Broad streets when she saw an SUV hit the vic­tim on the side­walk. That wit­ness said she saw the driver make a U-turn and at­tempt to hit the vic­tim a sec­ond time.

Po­lice did not de­scribe the re­la­tion­ship be­tween Le­grand and Faulcon.
