Vic­tim and driver iden­ti­fied in car crash on Route 22

State po­lice iden­ti­fied the woman in­jured in a Route 22 crash that closed the west­bound lanes for nine hours Thurs­day as Kelsey Gib­son, 30, of Al­len­town.

Gib­son was a pas­sen­ger in a high-end sports car driven by Al­fredo Gene Del­gado Jr., 40, of North White­hall Town­ship. Po­lice said she was thrown from the ve­hi­cle when Del­gado crashed into the rear of a box truck driven by Rus­sell Hadley, 56, of Lands­downe.

Gib­son, who was not wear­ing a seat belt, was taken to Le­high Val­ley Hospi­tal-Cedar Crest. She was in crit­i­cal con­di­tion. The driv­ers were not in­jured.

The ac­ci­dent hap­pened around 3:30 a.m. near Air­port Road in Hanover Town­ship, Le­high County. Route 22 was closed un­til 12:21 p.m. while po­lice worked to re­con­struct the ac­ci­dent.

It re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, po­lice said. No charges have been filed.

Del­gado’s 2018 McLaren 720S, an English sports car with a base price of $284,000, was to­taled.
