A stage show based on the popular computer-animated movie “Trolls” is coming to Allentown’s PPL Center, it was announced Monday.

“Trolls LIVE!,” the first live tour of the movie’s characters Princess Poppy, Branch and others, will have four performances — at 6 p.m. April 10; 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 11; and 2:30 p.m. April 12.

Tickets, at $21-$110 VIP, go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at the box office at 701 Hamilton St., Allentown, at www.PPLCenter.com and at 610-347-TIXX.

The show will be presented in a theater setting, with the stage on one end of the PPL Center’s floor, with limited floor seating and a theater-size seating area in the elevated sections.

The DreamWorks film “Trolls,” released in 2016 with characters voiced by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, grossed nearly $350 million at the box office and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”

That song won a Grammy Award for Best Song for Visual Media, and also was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and the movie for an American Music Award for Best Soundtrack.

A 26-episode animated series based on the film, “Trolls: The Beat Goes On!” airs on Netflix.

A sequel to the movie, “Trolls World Tour,” is scheduled to be released April 17 — a week after the theater show hits PPL Center.

Publicity for the stage show says it is filled with “music, glitter, humor and happiness.”

The story has Poppy, Branch and their Trolls friends Cooper, Cloud Guy, Satin and Chenille, Smidge, Guy Diamond, Fuzzbert, Biggie and Mr. Dinkles have their Hug Time unexpectedly put at risk, and the Trolls seek to save it.

The world of the Trolls comes alive in the show, which is interactive and uses scenic projection, puppetry, media technology and surprise special effects. It will be presented in two acts with an intermission.
