Chain-re­ac­tion crash caused by driver go­ing at un­safe speed, po­lice say

A driver go­ing at un­safe speeds rear-ended an­other ve­hi­cle, caus­ing a chain re­ac­tion crash near the Airport Road Shop­ping Cen­ter Satur­day, in­jur­ing four peo­ple, in­clud­ing two chil­dren, state po­lice said on Tues­day.

The crash hap­pened at 11:13 a.m. Satur­day at Airport Road at Airport Cen­ter Drive in Hanover Town­ship, Le­high County, state po­lice said. Po­lice said the driver of a Chevy Sil­ver­ado rear-ended a Chevy Ta­hoe, caus­ing that ve­hi­cle to hit a Jeep Grand Chero­kee in front of it. The Jeep was also pushed into the ve­hi­cle ahead of it.

The driver of the Sil­ver­ado and two pas­sen­gers, one of them a 13-year-old girl, of the third ve­hi­cle were taken to St. Luke’s Univer­sity Hospi­tal, Foun­tain Hill, with un­known in­juries. An 11-yearold boy in the Chevy Ta­hoe was taken to Le­high Val­ley Hospi­tal-Cedar Crest with un­known in­juries.

State po­lice say the ac­ci­dent was caused by the driver of the Sil­ver­ado driv­ing at un­safe speeds.
