The Morning Call

Say hello to autumn at Hausman Fruit Farm

- — Jennifer Sheehan

From pumpkins and spice and everything nice, you now have an excuse to celebrate the arrival of autumn.

Hausman Fruit Farm will kick off its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 27 with a host of traditional fall activities on its Coopersburg property. The fall festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28.

Admission to the fall festival events is free. Here’s just a few of the fun things you can do while you are enjoying the fall weather at Hausman’s:

Free events include numerous kids’ activities; parking, hayrides, and more

You can also navigate your way through a corn maze (don’t let your kids cheat by Googling the answers to the questions on their phones).

Face-painting for kids, as well as barrel trains and pedal tractors.

Along with the fun activities, the farm is known for all its incredible fall festival foods and drinks. Some musts: A dozen (or two) apple cider doughnuts (scratch-made cake doughnuts with a lovely apple flavor coated in cinnamon sugar); and apple cider slushies. Depending on the weather, you may want a hot drink, and there will be plenty of hot chocolate on hand to purchase. You can also check out the farm’s bakery featuring Dutch classics such as funny cake, shoo-fly pie and more.

The fall festival is also a great opportunity to take some family photos on the farm and pick up some pumpkins from the patch.
