Trump has rare strengths that help him in this crisis

The Morning Call - - TOWN SQUARE -

If anyone can beat the current impeachment drive, it’s Trump.

Donald J. Trump: The “blue collar billionaire” businessman who took on the Washington swamp, has a number of rare strengths to help him do the job and take on a bewildering number of challenges — a truly historic figure.

Strengths: Unabashedly “pro-American,” puts America first, declares that he loves America. Has taken on the “Washington swamp” and “fake news” media, working without a salary, has kept hundreds of campaign promises — economy, border protection. Gets things done. Adored by blue collar manufacturing and heartland. A master negotiator and “chess player,” has unique rapport with business leaders, other foreign leaders, including adversaries. Speaks extemporaneously from the heart, blue collar worker language and tweets connects with devoted base supporters; packs record rallies. Doesn’t quit.

Weaknesses: Outsider despised by the coasts, the Beltway, media, Democrats, Hollywood liberals and establishment Republicans — the “swamp.” Anathema to left wing. Brash fighter style, tweets and crude language earn him lots of enemies. Accused of an array of “ist”s and “ism”s. Faces impeachment alone (where’s the GOP?) Ray Bettys Red Hill
