Free turkeys are back at Giant supermarkets

Giant Food Stores announced that beginning Friday, customers can begin earning rewards points toward a free turkey every time they shop in-store using their BonusCard.

New this year, customers enrolled in Giant Choice Rewards can earn their free turkey by redeeming points online and earn free side dishes, desserts and more by using the Giant app.

“Thanksgiving is all about bringing family and friends together to share a special meal, but with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we know that’s easier said than done,” John Ruane, Giant chief merchandising officer, said in a news release.

To get a free turkey certificate, customers need to earn 400 rewards points Friday through Nov. 28. The certificates can be redeemed Nov. 15-28 at any Giant supermarket.

Customers also can choose to instead get a family-size lasagna or tofurkey or $1 off per pound of the turkey brand of their choice. They may also choose to donate the turkey certificate to a local regional food bank at the store.

Customers who use Giant’s app can also redeem points on up to 14 items including King’s Hawaiian rolls, Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, russet potatoes, Giant brand ice cream and Giant’s holiday pies.

Customers can find a tally of their extra rewards points at the bottom of their receipt or via the app. They should check with their local store for specific program details and eligibility or contact Giant’s customer support at 888-814-4268.
