Man tells police he was shot through window in Easton
Easton police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection to a shooting Tuesday night.
The 43-year-old victim’s wounds were not life-threatening after he was shot through the window of his apartment Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Elm Street, Lt. Matthew Gerould said in a news release.
On Wednesday police said they are looking for 18-year-old Latrell Mathis and have charged him with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, possession of instruments of a crime and reckless endangerment. Police say he may be with Jaquan Harris, 18, who is also a wanted person on aggravated assaulted charges in connection with a stabbing on Nov. 11.
Police say Mathis and Harris are believed to be armed and dangerous and may be in the Easton area.
Police were dispatched at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a gunshot victim.
The man, whose name was not released, told police that two men came to the apartment and shot him through a window between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Gerould said.
The assailants, one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and red sweatpants and the other wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, fled in an unknown direction, Gerould said.
The man was treated at an area hospital and released. He is not fully cooperating with investigators, Gerould said. Police believe the man was targeted.

This wasn’t the first time police had responded to the 1000 block of Elm Street. A man was arrested Oct. 16 and charged with threatening to shoot someone and then barricading himself in another residence in that area.
