Dee Roscioli and Broadway come home ... to Easton’s Centre Square
Broadway’s lights will stay dark till early next year, thanks to the pandemic.
But while Broadway is closed, a show will go on in Easton.
Dee Roscioli will perform a free concert in her hometown of Easton, at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Centre Square. The concert, “Broadway Comes Home,” will also feature singer/songwriter Ben Clark and several other musicians.
Most recently Roscioli starred in the Broadway show “Cher.” She’s best known for her run as Elphaba in “Wicked” both on Broadway and around the United States. She also appeared in: “Fiddler on the Roof, (2015 Broadway revival),” “Circus in Winter” (Goodspeed Musicals), “Love/Sick” (written by John Cariani), “Rock and Roll Refugee” (Royal Family), “Little Miss Sunshine,” (Second Stage), “Murder Ballad” (MTC workshop and
NYSF production).”
Roscioli has performed in the Valley numerous times over the years including the title role in “Evita” at the 2017 Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival at DeSales University and on stage at the State Theatre with the Pennsylvania Pops Orchestra.
Those who attend are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Chairs must be placed six feet apart from other attendees, unless sitting in family groups.
It’s free and you get a taste of the Great White Way at a time when Broadway is closed. In late June, the Broadway League announced that theaters will refund or exchange tickets for shows through Jan. 3. Due to how unpredictable the virus has been, the league will not set a date for shows to reopen.
