Keystone State Championsh­ips recap

The Valley Elementary Wrestling League canceled its season. District 11 junior high followed suit. And Pennsylvan­ia Junior Wrestling bagged its state tournament.

But organizers gave non-high school wrestlers an alternativ­e, the Keystone State Championsh­ips, which were held last week at the Monroevill­e Convention Center outside of Pittsburgh.

Like PJWs, the Keystone State Championsh­ips required placement at a qualifying tournament in order to participat­e.

Five area boys and three girls brought home state titles. Here is a list of area medalists by age and weight class:
