Robert K. Smith, 91, of Emmaus, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 4th at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Evelyn (Smoyer) Smith, and they had been married for 44 years. Born in Huntingdon PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rena (Meyers) Smith. He was a Navy Veteran Machinist Mate 2nd Class Petty Officer and served during the Korean War on board the U.S.S. Fresno and U.S.S. Shenandoah. He was an active member of Brookside Community Church of the Nazarene in Macungie PA. He also was a very active participan­t in the Boy Scouts of America for 57 years and served as Chief Head Commission­er, even still attending their Summer Camp this year. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Robert was an avid history buff, enjoyed photograph­y and loved his country.

Surviving in addition to his wife Evelyn is a son Craig Kuhns and wife Denise of Catasauqua, daughters DeAnn Wollen of Emmaus, Carolyn Trunk and husband Glenn of Allentown and Cynthia Billera and husband Mike of Allentown, a brother Gerald Starr, 12 Grandchild­ren and 3 Great Grandchild­ren. He is also survived by four (4) children from a previous marriage, sons Joseph Smith of West Lafayette IN, James Smith and wife Cindy of Nazareth, John Smith of Lakeland FL, and a daughter Barbara Blatt and husband Chuck of Topton.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. from the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown PA, 18102, with the Rev. Paula Creely Officiatin­g. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown PA. Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Contributi­ons may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Brookside Community Church.
