Lehigh Valley beer company planning major expansion
An Allentown brewery has announced plans to increase capacity and production to satisfy thirsty Lehigh Valley beer fans and more.
Brü Daddy’s Brewing Co. shared Tuesday that it plans to build a 15 beer barrel (BBL) manufacturing/ brewhouse facility at 635 S. 10th Street in south Allentown. (One BBL is equal to 31 gallons). A lease was recently signed with the Allentown Economic Development Council, according to a news release.
The building is a former Mack Truck production facility owned by Allentown Economic Development Council (AEDC). The plant is divided into individual commercial suites and is also the home to Lehigh Valley Grand Prix and other businesses.
Brü Daddy’s will occupy a 26,000-square-foot unit for its beer production.
The beer-making equipment is set to be moved in mid-December and the production facility should be operational by early spring, 2022.
Brü Daddy’s Brewing Co. opened at 732 Hamilton St. in downtown Allentown in late 2019, just before the pandemic broke. The Lehigh Valley brewery has won two awards (in consecutive years) at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
The Allentown brewery also has partnerships with both the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Lehigh Valley IronPigs for craft beer sales at PPL Center and Coca-Cola Park. Brü Daddy’s flagship beers, Haze Daddy IPA, Hamilton St. Helles Lager, and other tasty varieties are on tap at these locations.
Rich Ryan, CEO & President of Brü Daddy’s, says the new production facility will serve
the company and community well. “We need to be able to make more of our beer and do so without significantly driving up our overhead. This plan does just that and helps us grow our brand”.
Kevin Ryan, the company’s chief operating officer, is excited about the added flexibility that the production brewery will offer. “This will allow us to introduce new lines and create fun and unique beers while still keeping up with demand for our popular beers, like Haze Daddy and Hamilton Street Helles,” he
explained.
In May, the Ryans opened a restaurant and bar called blended by Brü Daddy’s, at 27 N. Seventh St., on the Allentown ArtsWalk at the former Queen City BBQ location. The spot features eclectic food options and Brü Daddy’s beers.
