IronPigs first baseman Darick Hall plus Clearwater pitchers Andrew Painter and Corey Phelan were named Phillies Minor League Hitter and Co-Pitchers of the Month, respectively, for April.

Hall, 26, slashed .284/.364/.682 with eight doubles, nine home runs, 28 RBIs, 20 runs and 10 walks in 23 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The left-handed hitter was first in RBIs, tied for first in games, tied for second in total bases (60), tied for third in homers and tied for 10th in runs among all minor leaguers.

Hall, who was named International League Player of the Week the last two weeks, recorded three multi-homer games in April. Entering Thursday, he is first in RBIs (31), tied for first in extrabase hits (19) and games (26), second in total bases (69) and tied for third in homers (10) among all minor leaguers. The Arizona native was the Phillies’ 14th-round pick in 2016.

The IronPigs resume a six-game series in Syracuse against the Mets in a 6:35 p.m. start today at NBT Stadium.

The 19-year-old Painter struck out 30 batters while allowing one unearned run in three April starts (12 IP) with low-A Clearwater. In those three outings, he surrendered four hits and three walks while posting a 0.58 WHIP.

On April 23 against Tampa, he struck out 14 of the 16 batters and allowed only one hit in five scoreless innings. The 6-foot-7 righty leads the Florida State League in strikeouts (36). Painter owns a 0.00 ERA and has struck out 36 of the 59 batters while holding opponents to a .111 batting average (6-54) in 16 innings (four starts).

He has a 7.20 strikeout-to-walk ratio (36 SO, 5 BB) and is averaging 20.25 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched.

Painter was the Phillies’ firstround pick in last year’s draft.

Phelan, 19, has not pitched this season, but is being honored for his courage and perseverance as he undergoes treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that was diagnosed in April.

The Huntington, N.Y., native is receiving care in a New York City hospital. Signed by the Phillies as a nondrafted free agent in August 2020, Phelan made his professional debut last season with the rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies and posted a 0.93 ERA in five relief appearances.
