Trump’s policies unite his opponents
Even in defeat, Donald Trump continues to be the gift that keeps on giving to Democrats. His inane, self-serving political choices gave Pennsylvania an added Democratic Senate seat in Congress and possibly control of the State House. His appointment of conservative Supreme Court Justices gave Democrats, and all women nationwide, a reason to vote against anti-choice Republicans. His nationwide hand- picked candidates collapsed like origami swans made from 50-year-old crumbling paper.
When announcing his candidacy he regurgitated his presidential achievements that exist only in his head and has now thrown the GOP into a frenzied nightmare because they know if he wins their presidential primary, they are assured defeat, and if he loses, he’ll circle his MAGA wagons of gun-toting, insurrectionists and either run as an independent in key states to divide the Republican vote or instruct them not to vote, or to vote for a Democrat.
Trump has proven he cannot admit defeat and go “quietly into the night” like normal politicians who lose in legitimate elections, which is an added blessing for the Democratic Party. If he runs in 2024, his coattails will again be as long as the sleeves on a vest. Ron Pizarie
