Philadelphia airport rated among ‘most stressful’ in US

The airport is, by nature, a very stressful place.

However, a study has found which airports are the most stressful in the U.S., among them one right here in Pennsylvania.

In recognizing that the holiday season is

one of the busiest traveling-wise, Hawaiian Islands was curious as to which terminals induced the most tears of frustration. So, it analyzed over 1,500 reviews on Google for hundreds of airports all over the world, and found the percentage of each that indicated stress. The study also divided findings between countries.

The final results found that Philadelphia International Airport was deemed to be Pennsylvania’s top anxiety-inducing airport with nearly 57% of reviews expressing stress.

“Many of the most stressful airports in the United States are also the busiest,” reads

the study. “Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, for example, is the busiest travel hub in the world, processing 75 million passengers a year.

“Some 60.2% of Google reviews for ATL indicate stress, the most of any airport in Georgia and seventh most in the U.S.”

However, the study acknowledges that the airport that topped the national list was Albany International, which isn’t nearly as busy as other locations may be.

“While JFK in New York is one of the busiest airports in the world, the most stressful airport in New York — and the United

States — is in Albany,” the study elaborates. “According to sentiment analysis from TensiStrength, 70.2% of Google reviews for Albany International Airport indicate stress — the most of any airport in the country.”

Rounding out the top five most stressful airports in the U.S. along with Albany were Orlando International Airport in Florida (number 5); Miami International Airport (number 4); Oakland International Airport in California (number 3); and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
