Jacob Roth appointed as new board member

The South Whitehall Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Jacob D. Roth as a new board member during a special meeting Wednesday.

The meeting comes after former Commissioner Michael Wolk resigned from the board earlier this month.

The only other candidate for the role was Richard M. Wehr.

Roth is a member of the township’s Parks and Recreation Board. At the meeting, commissioners praised both candidates while highlighting Roth for his involvement in the community through his consistent attendance of meetings and participation in community service, such as through the Lehigh County Youth Advisory Board.

Wolk left the commissioner’s position to move with his family to Delaware.
