Give District 11 football teams a chance in playoffs

In watching my favorite sport (high school football) this weekend, it made me come up with a suitable joke …

What is a larger feast than a Thanksgiving meal for the Philadelphia Catholic League? Our own District 11 football squads being served up in the state semifinals!

I realize that all the D-11 detractors for PCL inclusion in the PIAA football playoffs will come out in their usual droves but unfortunately the teams out of the western part of the state have had a propensity to beat the teams from Philadelphia in the finals! Hence, the theory that there is an uneven playing field only tends to apply in the eastern part of the state ( just as the EPC South tends to have an unfair advantage over the EPC North).

Perhaps it’s time to mix the barrel and allow semi/quarterfinal pairings between the PCL and the WPIAL, greatly enhancing the chances to see our local teams in the finals.
