The following candidates were inadvertently omitted from the 2023 primary Voters Guide.

Candidates were asked: What do you view as the major issue in this campaign and how will you address it?

Bethlehem Township

COMMISSIONER Term: 4 years Republican

Vote for one

STEVE GRECO Education: Mater Dei

Prep – Kean College

Occupation: Key Account Manager for commercial grower supplying bulbs, house plants, perennials, and annuals to national retail outlets (Shop Rites, Giant Foods, Wegmans, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.)

Qualifications: 30+ years resident active in the community currently serving on the Recreational Advisory Committee and member of Environmental Action Committee for Bethlehem Twps.

Response: A rapidly expanding township is the major issue. Longtime and new residents deserve safe communities, fully equipped and staffed First Responders, well-maintained roads, and fiscal responsibility. Open space preservation wherever legally possible and environmental issues are vital as the proposed landfill expansion has shown. Listening to concerned residents and the experienced voices of Twps officials and workers would be my priority in addressing these issues. My commitment is to family and the needs of others.

Plainfield Township

SUPERVISOR

Term: 6 years Republican

Vote for not more than two

JANE MELLERT Education: Certificate in Professional Management from Center for Business and Industry, Northampton County Community College, PA Governor’s Center for Local Government Services, PA DCED, Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors,

Pen Argyl Area High School

Occupation: Township Supervisor

Qualifications: Since 1986 I have been involved in various Municipal Government Services including – Township Supervisor, Slate Belt Regional Police Commissioner, Alternate Zoning Hearing Board Member, Environmental Advisory Council, Solid Waste Committee, Former Chair of the Financial Committee, Secretary/Treasurer, Joint Comprehensive Plan, Pennsylvania State Assoc. of Township Supervisors Resolution Committee, etc.

Response: There are several critical issues facing the Township. I believe keeping real estate taxes down, while working within the constraint of a budget, is crucial for the residents in this economy. In 2020 I voted NO to Waste Management’s request to Rezone land in order to create a new Solid Waste Zoning District. My vote would remain the same in the future. Retention and support for the Slate Belt Regional Police and PTVFC.
