James M. McAndrew

James Michael McAndrew, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October

16, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Koch) McAndrew, with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown on March 13, 1947, he was the son of the late James H. and Agnes E. (Morgan) McAndrew. James was a 1965 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. James worked as an Electrician and Motor Inspector for Bethlehem Steel for many years. He was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic

Church, and a member of the Steelworkers Veterans Memorial Association, Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees, and the

Egypt VFW Post 7293. James was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan, and loved telling jokes, reading, crossword puzzles, chess, and playing cards, especially pinochle and poker. He was an avid angler of freshwater trout and enjoyed making his own fishing lures. James considered himself blessed and wanted to remind everyone, “He died with a full creel.” James will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; daughter Kelly Phillip and husband John of Bath, and daughter Kim Gasda and husband Greg of Pennsburg; four grandchildren: JJ, Ashlyn, Darby, and Larkin; sister Patricia Hobby, and brother Michael McAndrew.

Services: A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, where relatives and friends can call from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
