James E. Jones

James E. Jones, 81, of North Catasauqua, died with his family by his side, Friday, December 1, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Roland and Hortense (Brungard) Jones.

Jim was the husband of Janice (Gerhard) Jones and celebrated 34 years of marriage together this past May. Jim was proud of his service to his country and honorably served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was stationed on the U.S.S. Kretchmer. He retired from Mack Trucks after many years of service. Jim was a self-taught contractor and built over 150 homes in Catasauqua, North Catasauqua, and Northampton. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved deer hunting with his friends. Jim was recognized by the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 for over 55 years of continuous membership. Surviving along with his wife Janice; son Joseph Jones and wife Tina, daughters Amy Huselton and husband Brett; Maryjo Miller; Grandchildren Brady and Aubrie Huselton; Jayden and Kiera Jones; Austin and wife Hikaru and Lindsey Miller; one greatgranddaughter; and brother and sister. Jim was preceded in death by his son Robert J. Jones in 2017. A calling period will be held at 12:30pm1:30pm Friday December 8, 2023, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30pm Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Catasauqua.
