A new gift shop that will include merchandise for Dorney Park’s upcoming Iron Menace roller coaster is just one of the additions and changes coming when the park opens this spring.

The new “Steel Yard” area at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom will host the Steel Yard Gifts shop as well as a newly themed restaurant and ride, General Manager and Vice President Jessica Naderman announced on social media Saturday.

The gift shop will be adjacent to the Possessed roller coaster, according to a press release Monday from the park.

“Here you’ll be able to get all your Iron Menace merch and much more,” Naderman said during her announcement. “For all you ride lovers, this is going to be the place to be.”

The park will also change the Cedar Creek Flyers ride into one called MT Buckets. Naderman said the redesign is based on Hiram S. McTavish, the Scottish businessman who created Iron Menace in its fictional backstory.

Finally, Dorney is updating its Dorney Grille into Iron Mill Grill & Bar. Naderman said the restaurant will serve a larger capacity of customers, host a new bar and patio area, and include new menu items such as pierogis, flatbreads, chicken sandwiches and pulled pork sandwiches.

The park is scheduled to open May 10, but “maybe we have some more surprises up our sleeves. You’ll have to keep tuning in to find out,” Naderman said.

Dorney Park announced Iron Menace as the first “dive” roller coaster in the Northeast last August.

It will be located on the site of the former Stinger roller coaster, and is the first new coaster in the park since the opening of Hydra in 2005.
