Janice Augello
Janice Augello, 79, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was the cherished wife of the late Anthony "Guido" Augello and daughter of the late Peter and Accursia DiRaimondo. A native New Yorker, hailing from the Bronx, Janice earned a degree in fashion design and business management from NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her professional career began in Manhattan's bustling Garment District where she was a buyer for several major fashion labels. It was here, in the production facilities, warehouses and showrooms, that she honed her chic and sophisticated fashion style. It was also where she met her husband of 48 years, Guido. Janice later became a clothing boutique proprietor, proudly owning the Body Shop on 19th Street in Allentown for over a decade. Janice was widely beloved for her friendly, warm, welcoming and outgoing personality. She inspired fun times wherever she went. Her passions included travel, gardening and cooking. Above all, she was happiest with a well-stocked fridge with food and family crowded around her kitchen table.
Survivors: Janice is lovingly remembered by her son, Jonathan Augello of Crested Butte, CO; her son Jeffrey Augello, his wife Brooke and their children Caterina and Alessia of Olney, MD; her son Michael Augello of Allentown; and her brother, Donald DiRaimondo of Queens,
NY. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, and on Friday morning at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
