Leon E. Krebs

Leon E. “Gene” Krebs, 83, of Whitehall died peacefully at home March 17, 2024.He was the husband of Judy K. (Kauffman)Krebs with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Trevorton, PA., he was the son of the late Leon E. Krebs and Hazel J. (Haupt)Krebs. Leon was a graduate of Trevorton High School class of 1958. He served four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school. He attended the Pennsylvan­ia State Police Academy, graduating in the class of 1962. He was stationed at York and Harrisburg in the beginning of his career as a PA. State Trooper. He then furthered his education in Allentown to become a ballistics and tool markings expert, working in the crime lab with the PA. State Police Bethlehem barracks. After serving 32 years with the PA. State Police, he continued his law enforcemen­t career working for the FBI in Quantico VA., Washington, DC. Metropolit­an Police Dept., Montgomery County Detectives, Norristown,

PA. and then went on to teach ballistics and tool markings for the PA State Police. He finally retired in 2010 at age 70. Leon enjoyed hunting and fishing; playing guitar and his musical saw with his band “Lizard Creek Country.” He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish fond memories along with his wife Judy are two daughters, Susan E. Santiago of Northampto­n, Nicole M. McLoughlin of Whitehall: three grandchild­ren, Erin A. (Molnar) Scheid (Christophe­r) of Walnutport, Michael W. McLoughlin of Whitehall, Rachael L. McLoughlin of Ashland, four great grandchild­ren; Peyton Rudakewiz, Ty Scheid, Maci Scheid and

Kayden Sam. There will be a calling period on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 09:30-11:00 a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut Street, Coplay, PA. 18037. Funeral service to follow in the parlor at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Coplay Cemetery, 9th & Oak Street, Coplay, PA.
