LORAIN — Gladys L. Rosa (nee Daniels), age 85, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012, at her home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 11, 1926, in Middleport, Ohio, moving to Lorain almost 60 years ago. She was employed at Lawson’s for many years and was very involved with the PTA at Lincoln Elementary School.

Gladys was an avid reader, enjoying reading everything and anything. She also loved to cook for anyone, and for any event. She loved everybody, and had a special place in her heart, especially for children. In return, everyone who knew her, loved her, and was known as “Granny” by everyone.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 60 years, Venancio R., her son, Michael, of Lorain, daughters; Linda Adkins, of Lorain, and Valentina “Tina” Guevara, of Houston, TX, 7 grandchild­ren, 4 great-grandchild­ren, and her brothers; Robert, Rusty, and Alan, all of Columbus. She is also survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Emmitt and Flossie Daniels, a great-grandson, Marcus Melendez, and her brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, from 4-8 p.m, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
