Father arrested for intimidation in Lorain
LORAIN — A neighbor dispute resulted in a woman getting stabbed and another cut by glass Sunday during a fight at an East avenue home about 8:30 p.m., according to a Lorain police report.
The father of the woman who was stabbed, Robert Mahaffey, 40, of Lorain, was charged with intimidation of a crime victim for threats he made against the people living in the home.
The woman who was stabbed was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center and received stitches in her leg, according to the report.
The woman and some other people involved said some women entered the house to get child, because they did not approve of some visitors at the house, according to the report. The woman who admitted stabbing the other woman said she did so in self defense, the report stated.
The woman who was stabbed and her mother went to the police station Monday to report that some women involved in the fight were threatening her via text messages and voicemails, according to a report.
The mother signed a motion for a criminal protection order and police recommended they contact the prosecutor’s office.
Man accused of taking photos of children
NORTH RIDGEVILLE — Police received a complaint of a suspicious man driving around taking photos of children.
The complainant said about 6 p.m. on Sept. 12 a man in a blue Subaru Impreza was taking photos of children before and after school and at bus stops on Country Meadow Way in the Meadow Lakes area, said North Ridgeville Police Capt. Marti Garrow. Police were dispatched to the area but did not find any signs of the suspect.
“We didn’t observe a vehicle,” Garrow said. The area was on extra watch. A report was not generated from that incident. There have not been any other complaints.
Garrow said complaints like these are not uncommon.
