Follow the Fish Trail to reveal 2015 plans

- Staff report

The Follow the Fish Art & Adventure Trail, a public art project that aims to promote local businesses, will continue in 2015, organizers say.

The planners of the trail will hold an Ignite 2015! party Nov. 9 to roll out plans for how the project will continue next year, said Chairwoman Joan Perch.

The Follow the Fish Art & Adventure Trail has grown through fish sculptures placed at businesses and offices around Lorain County, and the Follow the Fish committee has held ArtShop events on Broadway in Lorain, and in other communities.

The artists involved have pondered ways to join the watery-themed fish trail with fire, a motif that has been studied in the participants’ works, Perch said.

Other cities around the United States also have built festivals and events around the theme of fire, she said.

The Nov. 9 event will feature a pyrotechnic show by Schuyler White, a fire artist and world record holder with Ohio Burn Unit, with accompaniment by percussionist Essa Grayson.

The party will be 4 to 8 p.m. at Legacy Restaurant and Grille, 750 Jaycox Road in Avon Lake.

Tickets are $25 in advance or at the door with advance reservations. The Follow the Fish committee is asking for reservations to plan for adequate food and drinks.

Tickets are available for purchase here: https:// squareup. com/ market/ follow-the-fish-art/ignite.
