LORAIN – Marjorie Ann Matelski (nee Minor), age 78, ofLorain passed away sud - denly Wednesday , December 17, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

She was born on February 28, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Donald and Frances (nee Manlet) Minor and was a 1955 graduate of Norwalk St. Paul High School.

Marjorie was employed with the Lorain City Schools as a Custodian retiring in 2004 after 28 years of service. She also worked for many years at the Lorain Moose Lodge preparing and serving at their Fish Fry Dinners. Marjorie loved to polka, play bingo, cards and bowling. She enjoyed watching television, especially, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Young and the Restless.

She is survived by her children, Michael Anthony Matelski, of Elyria, Diana Marie Sherwin, of Avon Lake; Donna Jean Tursivio, of Lorain; Mary Francis Edwards, of Lorain; Christine Louise Edreff, of Vermilion and Matthew Andrew Matelski, of Chilicothe, OH; 9 grandchild­ren; 16 greatgrand­children; brothers, Phillip Minor, of Bellevue and Donald Minor, of Norwalk; and her sister, Virginia Cousno, of Norwalk.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Michael Matelski and oldest granddaugh­ter, Tara May Balogh, in 2004; her parents, Donald and Frances Minor; brother, Robert Minor and sister, Phyllis Neal.

The Matelski family will receive friends on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20th. at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 715 Harris Road, Sheffield Lake, OH. 44054, Rev. Fr. Stephen Shields, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.

He was born May 28, 1981 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain.

He was student at Lorain County Community College majoring in constructi­on

He was the 6th grade assistant basketball coach at Durling Middle School.

He enjoyed playing basketball, football, video games, and cornhole with his Dad.
