Ralph Clyde Mettler, Jr.

LORAIN – Ralph Clyde Mettler, Jr. 71 years of age, and a resident o f Lorain, wen t home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home following a brief illness.

He was a lifetime resident of Lorain, Ohio, born on August 1, 1943.

Ralph was employed at Ford Motor Company as a Relief Man before retiring in the 1990’s. with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son Ralph Cary Mettler (Jennifer); his daughters Patricia Johnson and Melissa Mettler all of Lorain; grandchildren Brandon Sadler, Mariah Johnson, Rachael, Kyle, Rebecca and Sean Mettler.

He was preceded in death by his brother Daryl Mettler; and his parents Ralph and Mary Mettler (nee: Sparks).

Friends may call Sunday, December 21, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Aaron Webb, pastor of Beacon Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Beacon Baptist Church; 3407 West Erie Avenue, Lorain, OH 44052.
