A little off the mark Irving spending extra time practicing shooting

Most of the Cavaliers players were in their luxury cars, on their way home.

Yet, there was point guard Kyrie Irving out on the Quicken Loans Arena court, hoisting up shot after shot.

He couldn’t have been happy with his performance in the Atlanta game Dec. 17 when he finished with nine points and six assists.

Something has been off in his game since he crashed to the floor in Oklahoma City, clutching his left knee. That scare happened on Dec. 11.

In his last five games, he has averaged 15 points, 6.6 assists and 1.4 turnovers. He’s shooting 38.7 percent from the field (29 of 75) and 19 percent from the 3-point line (4 of 21) in that span.

Those are very un-Irvingtype numbers.

The 6-foot-3, 193-pound Irving takes pride in his shoot- ing.

“For me, I’m very meticulous when it comes to jump shooting,” he told USA Today after the game. “The coaches really can’t do anything. It’s got to come from me knocking down open looks. My teammates have to trust in me and continue to give me the ball in order for us to be successful. Part of our process of growing, I’ve just got to knock down the open looks I’m getting off the ball.” When: 7:30, Dec. 19 Where: Quicken Loans
