Mike Miller, in his first start of the season, poured in 21 points, all of them coming on 3-point field goals. LeBron James didn’t shoot real well (7-for-18), but he had 22 points, nine assists and four rebounds.

How the game turned

It turned when Coach David Blatt decided to start Mike Miller at the shooting guard, in place of Shawn Marion. Miller responded with a spectacular shooting exhibition, making seven of his eight 3-point field goal attempts. Miller was 7-for-8 (.875) from behind the arc. All the other Cavs combined were 2-for-16 (.125)

points to push his career total to 23,776. That moves him past Charles Barkley (23,757) and into 23rd place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Allen Iverson is in 22nd place on the all-time list with 24,368 points.

• The Nets have six international players on the their roster: Bojan Bogdanovic (Croatia), Jorge Gutierrez (Mexico), Jerome Jordan (Jamaica), Sergey Karasev (Russia), Andrei Kirilenko (Russia) and Mirza Teletovic (Bosnia). The only NBA team with more international players is San Antonio, with nine.

• -Kevin Love has 14 double-doubles this season, which is tied for fifth in the NBA. He had eight double-doubles in the last 10 games prior to Dec. 19, when he had 14 rebounds but just six points.

• The Cavs, amazingly, shot exactly the same percentage in both the first and second quarters. They were 8-for-19 (42.1 percent) from the field in each of the first two quarters.
