28th Street Auto Repair and More creates opportunit­ies

A family owned and operated business is nearing its first decade of service with its customers and community in mind.

For a full line of auto repair services and tire sales, 28th Street Auto Repair and More, 1716 E. 28thSt. in Lorain, twirls wrenches to please customers.

“We’re building a nice customer base; we employ locally, and we want to continue to build our business and create better opportunit­ies for people who live around here,” said Brittany Bow- yer, the 18-year-old daughter of owner Scottie Bowyer.

Scottie Bowyer, 37, also owns a car lot, Quality Carz and More, 6210 Middle Ridge Road in Lorain, said Danielle Lewis, an office manager at 28th Street Auto.

“We’ve been here for nine years,” Lewis said.

In addition to new tire sales of name brands such as Goodyear, Kelly Tires, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgeston­e, Hankook, Kumho and Dunlop, a 30-day warranty on used tires also is available, Lewis said.

“We also buy junk vehicles as long as they have a valid title with their name on it,” she said.

To boost awareness of the store’s Facebook page, 28th Street Auto offers specials such as Monday Madness, Tune-up Tuesday and Wheel Bearing Wednesday, Lewis said.

Also on Facebook, customers can find entry requiremen­ts for winning a free set of brake pads, installed, an $80 value, Lewis said.

“My main technician graduated from Admiral King High School, James Bowyer. He’s 35 and the manager. He’s been with the company for seven years. He and Scottie are brothers,” Lewis said.

“Richard Ensman is 35. He’s been a service technician with the company for eight years,” Lewis said. “He specialize­s in welding, computer diagnostic­s, and troublesho­oting.
