A woman is facing of soliciting charge after Elyria police say he was offering more than massages.
A woman is facing a charge of soliciting after an Elyria Police Department investigation revealed she was offering more than massages at Rejuvenation Spa, 445 Griswold Road, Suite C, in Elyria, according to Capt. Christopher Costantino.
Ping Liu, 61, was arrested March 16 following a brief investigation.
Lirong Yang, 52, also was working at the spa at the time and was charged with obstructing official business, Costantino said.
Yang wasn’t very forthcoming with information,
and officers are still working to confirm her identity, he said.
Elyria Municipal Court records show Yang with a first name of “Lirong,” while Lorain County Jail records have her first name as “Linong.”
Complaints regarding the business operating as a brothel started coming in this past week, Costantino said.
On March 16, officers scheduled an appointment for a $50, hour-long massage to verify the complaints, he said.
Around 8 p.m., an undercover officer arrived for his appointment and was later told by Liu that she could perform sexual favors in exchange for an additional $100, Costantino said.
At that time, police went inside the establishment and arrested Liu, he said.
Court records show both Liu and Yang share the same address on West River Road North in Elyria.
At their arraignment hearings March 17, both women entered not guilty pleas. Both suspects have a pretrial scheduled for March 20.
