Students inducted into organizati­ons

The following students from the area have been inducted into an honor society or honor fraternity at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Inductions were celebrated during Parents and Family Weekend, held from March 31 to April 2 on campus.

• Jacob Miller, Columbia Station, was inducted into Kappa Mu Epsilon. Kappa Mu Epsilon is a national collegiate honor fraternity in mathematic­s which holds the purpose of furthering an interest in mathematic­s and computing science among undergradu­ates.

• Colleen Boggs, Elyria, was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta and Phi Alpha Theta. Sigma Tau Delta is an internatio­nal English Honor Society and recognizes high achievemen­t in English language and literature in undergradu­ate, graduate, and profession­al studies. Phi Alpha Theta is a national honorary organizati­on dedicated to the promotion of historical studies. Membership is based upon high academic achievemen­t, overall grade point ratio of 3.0, and completion of four courses in history with a 3.5 grade point average in all history courses.

• Hannah Tillotson, Sandusky, was inducted into Lambda Sigma. The Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for second year men and women. It is dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarshi­p, fellowship and the spirit of service among college students, and to promoting the interests of the college or university in every possible way.
