Elaine M. “Bunny” Ambrosio (nee Kulcsar), 81, of Elyria, died Thursday August 10, 2017 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.

She was born April 12, 1936 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain and Elyria area resident. She graduated from Clearview High School where she met her husband Arnold. She worked at Meyer Goldberg and held several other jobs over the years until she began working in the elementary school kitchen at St. Vincent de Paul in Elyria in 1977.

Bunny and her husband Arnold were married for 63 years prior to his death in 2014. She is a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Elyria Township. She was tive in the parish, working bingo and preparing food for many parish activities. She loved her job of serving lunches for the school children which she did for 28 years until her retirement in 2005.

In her youth, she was an outstandin­g bowler. She was dedicated to helping maltreated dogs and cats and over the years found homes for or saved dozens of strays. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchild­ren and was a ture at their sporting events and school activities.

She is survived by her brother, Ed (Dorothy); children, ane Pruchinsky and Darlene Straub, both of Westlake, Chris (Emily) Ambrosio of Avon and Jeff Ambrosio of Avon, and 10 grandchild­ren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her mother, Bertha (nee Kish) and father, Julius Kulcsar; ers, Steven and Bill; and daughter, Julie.

The family will receive friends Monday August 14th from 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 15th at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria Twp. The Rev. Donald Dunson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
