• Clippers: Triple-A Pawtucket scored first, but host Columbus scored six unanswered runs for a 6-1 win at Huntington Park. Richie Shaffer hit his 28th home run of the season, and Eric Stamets clubbed his 14th, to spark the Columbus offense. Jarrett Grubbe worked six strong innings, with only one run given up, to earn the win for the Clippers (66-61).

• Rubber Ducks: Hunter Cole’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning gave host Richmond a 3-2 win over Double-A Akron, giving the Flying Squirrels a three-game sweep. Akron (62-63) had tied the game at 2 in the seven inning. Akron got two hits each from Greg Allen and Luigi Rodriguez.

• Hillcats: Visiting Salem scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning, but the rally fell short and High-A Lynchburg held on for an 8-7 win. Sicnarf Loopstock hit a three-run home run, his 17th homer of the season, to lead the Lynchburg offense. The Hillcats are now 77-49.

• Captains: Brady Aiken fell to 5-13 with a 5.06 ERA as the Low-A Captains fell to visiting Dayton, 8-6. Aiken gave up eight runs (six earned) in 3 1⁄3 innings. Michael Tinsley and Conner Capel each hit a home run for Lake County (50-75).

• Scrappers: Ike Schlabach and two relievers held visiting Mahoning Valley to two hits in a 4-0 win by Low-A West Virginia. Nolan Jones and Jonathan Laureano each had singles for Mahoning Valley (31-25). Randy Valladares took the loss.
