Foundation awards grants

The Community Foundation of Lorain County Board recently approved $771,036 in grants, according to a media release.

The Community Foundation approved 38 grants in various fields including: $127,430 for the arts and culture; $40,000 for civic affairs; $51,075 for education; $15,000 for the environment; $131,716 for health and health outreach; $39,105 for housing and shelter; $40,000 for law enforcement and legal aid; $13,000 for science and technology; $246,300 for social services; and $67,410 for youth development.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History: $14,370 to transform science and health education in Lorain County schools Credo: $3,500 for a summer music festival

Great Lakes Theater Festival: $35,000 for 2017-18 theater education programs in Lorain County

Lorain Arts Council: $14,560 for a mural project

Lorain Historical Society: $25,000 for Children’s History Center programming

Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra: $25,000 for the
