Portion of Lake Road to close, ODOT says

Expected closure to last 54 days

- Staff report

Lake Road will close between Lear Road and South Point Drive starting Feb. 5, according to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The planned 54-day closure is expected to be completed by March 5 and will allow for the installation of sewer lines between the two ends of North Point Drive as part of the 45 Area Combined Sewer Separation project being undertaken by the city.

The 45s historic cottage district is located just east of Lear Road and south of Lake Road.

Property owners living in this part of city presently have until June 30, 2019, to have their properties inspected and have any necessary work completed, according to Avon Lake Regional Water.

Three detour routes for traffic have been established:

• Local traffic will be diverted from Lake Road by heading eastbound to Lear Road, south to Electric Avenue, east to South Point Drive and north to Lake Road (U.S. Route 6) and reverse.

• Passenger vehicles will be directed to head east to Lear Road, south to Walker Road, west to Bradley Road and then north to Lake Road and reverse.

• Trucks and other commercial vehicles will take Lake Road eastbound to state Route 83, south to state Route 2, east to Crocker Road, north to Lake Road and reverse.
