Area Sheetz among 15 to be remodeled

- By Briana Contreras

Sheetz is planning a remodeling, according to Brian Soyka, the store’s engineering manager.

Sheetz food and gas station, 32390 Lorain Road in North Ridgeville, is planning a remodeling, according to Brian Soyka, the store’s engineering manager.

Sheetz is one of the 15 stores that will get remodeled across the board, Soyka told the North Ridgeville Planning Commission on Jan. 9.

The North Ridgeville location currently has two canopies that hold four pumps under each, he said.

With the redevelopment, the company will remove one canopy add two more pumps to the canopy that will remain, Soyka said.

There will be six total pumps once the redevelopment is complete they still will produce the same amount of gas the station did before the process, he said.

Also, more parking will be added, a resurfaced lot, and a patio on the outside.

More trees and landscape will surround the store, Soyka said.

The building will have an addition to the kitchen and an indoor seating area for

guests, he said.

“This is a big maintenance program,” Soyka said. “We are due for a rebuild.”

Official date of when the

project will begin will be announced once it’s on the City Council docket.

The next City Council meeting is Jan. 16.Ridgeville
