Lake Ridge Academy Mock Trial team advances to state competition

Lake Ridge Academy’s Mock Trial team will once again head to the Ohio High School Mock Trial competition March 8-9 in Columbus.

The team also reached the state competition last year.

The Mock Trial Club at Lake Ridge Academy is very popular and regularly fields four competitive teams. This year, all four teams attended the Lorain County district completion held at the Elyria Municipal Courthouse.

Two Lake Ridge Academy teams were victorious and advanced to regionals, which were also held at the Elyria Municipal Courthouse on Feb. 16.

The Lake Ridge Academy Blue team won its trials to advance to the state competition. The Blue team also won one Best Attorney Award and two Best Witness Awards at regionals.

Members of the Blue team that will appear at the state competition are Anjali Prabhakaran (Avon), Bunsi Chapadia (Strongsville), Riya Lakkarajun (best attorney award) (Strongsville), Maithili Patel (Seven Hills), Dominic Donnelly (Huron), Alec Wostman (best witness award) (Huron), Hana Baran (Avon and Lakewood), and Halle Garbinski (best witness award) (Bay Village).

Lake Ridge Academy (www.lakeridgeacademy. org) is an independent, nonsectarian day school offering co-educational classes from kindergarten through grade 12 in North Ridgeville.
